We helped Ben and Anna find Christmas Trees for their rooms in The Cities today. We hiked north on the farm where Anna and Ben found old cars and other histoical items. They each cut a tree and Grandma Betsy got one too. Grandpa David got pictures and Video. he will try to get some up (they're up) here, as well as at http://www.davidandbetsyphotos.com/.
By the way there is a video of Marco and David singing "Pikasika Pikasika Porcupine" at http://www.facebook.com/. You might want to join up, eh?... Look for David you know who (no last names of living people on this site).
Hope you had a peaceful and exciting Thanksgiving.

The Long Road to Longlac, Ontario

We got the urge to drive 300 miles to Longlac, Ontario, Canada just to see what it was like. It's a beautiful drive and we were blessed with some snow. It's cold here too. Probably zero or so. I can't tell for sure because they only give the canadian temperature. We ate pizza and watched hockey at the local bar. The "Leafs" were beating the Chicago guys 4-2 when we finished and went back to our hotel room.
I'll get some pictures up when my camera thaws out.

Remembering July...

I just stumbled over some pictures I took of The North Shore of Lake Superior last summer. Is it really that green in the summer? It's white now. The date was July 10, 2007 and I was flying commercial from MSP to Thunder Bay. The plane had to fly low due to military operations at normal flying altitude. It was rough, but the female pilot and co-pilot did a manly job of it. The pictures are of Lutsen ski slopes and the Good Harbor Hill area including the Farm...and horses...

The Weekend Was About Snow...

Yes, we got close to twenty inches of snow at the farm. Grand Marais had two feet. There was lots of down-home excitement with plow trucks getting stuck and breaking down. You would think I would have some pictures...
Betsy took a four day landscape painting class at the Grand Marais Art Colony. I'm looking forward to see her painting. I hear it's of a scene in Uganda, Africa. Maybe she'll let me take a picture of it and post it here...
